This is my first post in this new blog, which I am mainly keeping for my own record. However, I don't find dreams to be a very personal thing, and I like hearing about others' weird dreams, so in case anyone is as weirdly curious as I am, read away.
Last night I had a dream in which I was not present in the dream. I wasn't even like a passer-by, it was almost like I was watching a movie of it happening or something, or like floating invisibly on the ceiling. I've never had a dream in which I had no role!
A woman in her late 40s or early 50s awoke in her bunk bed (top bunk, her bottom bunk was reserved for when her son was visiting), and headed into work at some sort of cubicle/clerical job. When she got to work, she realized it was 11:19am, and she was supposed to have been in by 9am. She thought she had awoke at her normal time, as she was not accustomed to using an alarm clock. Her boss came along and fired her. She went out to the parking lot and her car was being towed, and she was arrested. She was taken to jail, and she called her son to come bail her out. (Her son was 24). He came to get her, but wouldn't speak a word until he got to her home.
Once he got home, he began speaking sternly to her about how her actions the night before were unacceptable and how she needed to get help. Slowly, as he was talking to her, the night came back to her in flashbacks.
First, she remembered having a homeless man drive her car home because she was too impaired, and struggling to get up to her top bunk.
Next, she remembered having several beers with a younger crowd, of whom she only knew 2-3 people that she worked with, and they kept encouraging her to drink more beer. She walked out to her car, sat in it, realized that she couldn't even get the key in the ignition. She found a man wandering the bar parking lot, and asked him to drive her car home in exchange for $20. (This ended up being the homeless man.)
I don't remember the rest of the flashbacks, but they were in reverse chronological order, and I know one involved the use of cocaine and another involved some inappropriate actions toward her on the part of her boss.
Anyway, I have no idea where this dream came from, but I feel like I could refine it into the plot of a movie! My subconscious is awesome!!
